The Staff Room Chat Guide
The Staff Room is a secure, school-scoped anonymous chat space designed specifically for CBSE teachers to share ideas, discuss syllabus plans, exchange materials, and discuss issues safely.
1. Accessing Your Channel
Access is automatic based on your school affiliation linked during your account onboarding:
- If you are verified with a school directory ID, you will automatically see your school channel under the Staff Room Hub.
- Teachers not verified with that specific school directory are marked as **Outsiders** when sending messages to other school directories, ensuring transparency.
2. Anonymity & Pseudonyms
To post messages or share materials, you must configure a unique nickname (pseudonym) to preserve anonymity:
Username Security Requirements:
- Your username can only contain letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores (no spaces).
- Real Name Protection: To prevent accidental de-anonymization, your pseudonym cannot contain your first or last name (case-insensitive substring check).
- You can change your pseudonym at any time from the chat portal.
3. Sharing Files & Limits
Teachers can attach syllabus structures, worksheets, or notes to messages:
- Global File Limit: The maximum file upload size is strictly capped at 25 MB.
- Upload Quota: Each registered educator can upload a maximum of 10 files in every 6 hours.
- Allowed Formats: PDF files, DOC, DOCX, XLSX, and images (JPEG, PNG).
4. Chat Moderation & Flags
To keep the channels professional and constructive, a community-driven reporting system is active:
Automatic Hiding:
If a message receives 5 or more flags from different teachers, the system automatically marks it as deleted and hides it from the channel timeline.
